Mathematical modeling using FLOW-3D


The last decade has seen a marked increase in applications for Archimedes turbines (AHS). Mainly, the advantages of this turbine revolve around significantly lower implementation costs with comparable efficiency to a Kaplan turbine. At the same time, the possibility of AHS applications at low gradients < 10 m, in streams and derivation channels makes this turbine highly recommended. Its increase in popularity may result in the strengthening and development of distributed energy source policies.
